What To Bring
At Chris Kyle Patriots Hospital, our top priority is the wellbeing of all patients, staff members and visitors. To maintain a stable and therapeutic environment for everyone, we ask that you please review our lists of permitted and prohibited items below.
We thank you for your cooperation in adhering to this list so that a healing environment can be maintained.
Recommended Items
- Six to seven days’ worth of civilian clothes (belts permitted only during off-campus outings)
- Jacket or sweater without strings (unit can be cold at times)
- Basic hygiene supplies (alcohol-free and no mirrors or glass)
- Limited cash or credit card
- List of important phone numbers
- Contact info for medical doctor, case manager and therapist
- Sports bras or bras without underwire
- Slip-on shoes without laces for the unit
- Running shoes for PT will be kept in the fitness room if they have laces.
- PT Gear (civilian or military)
- Shower shoes (they must have the strap built in as a part of the shoe-if the strap can be pulled out of the shoe, it will not be permitted)
- House slippers
- Your own bedding if you prefer (but it is provided)
- Any medications currently taking
- Medical equipment (CPAP, walkers, hearing aids, eyeglasses)
Prohibited Items
- Items in glass containers
- Weapons
- Batteries
- Cleaning fluids
- Clothing with strings
- Inappropriate clothing (revealing or referencing drugs or alcohol)
- Expensive jewelry
- Corded headphones
- Water bottles
- Loofahs
- Cds, DVDs, blu-rays
- Guitar, guitar strings (unless approved prior to admission by Administration)
- Keys or key chains
- Necklaces or dog tags
- Aerosol cans
- Lighters or matches
- Hangers
- Steel-toed or heeled shoes
- Mirrors or compacts
- Any product containing alcohol
- Dental floss
- Spiral notebooks
- Permanent or dry-erase markers
- White-out or paper clips
- Aluminum cans
- Outside food or drink
- Cellphones
- Gaming Tablets or Personal Laptops
