What To Bring

At Chris Kyle Patriots Hospital, our top priority is the wellbeing of all patients, staff members and visitors. To maintain a stable and therapeutic environment for everyone, we ask that you please review our lists of permitted and prohibited items below. 

We thank you for your cooperation in adhering to this list so that a healing environment can be maintained.

Personal Belongings

For patient and staff safety, belongings are regulated and are searched at time of admission.

This is not an exhaustive list however requests for other items will be determined by the treatment team for each individual patient.

The following are permissible:

  • 4 – 5 days’ worth of clothes
  • Jacket or sweater-no strings
  • List of important phone numbers
  • List of important contact information
  • Sports bras or bras with no underwire
  • Slip on shoes without laces for the unit
  • House slippers
  • A list of medications currently prescribed
  • Medical equipment-CPAP, walkers, hearing aids, eyeglasses

The following items are prohibited:

  • Glass containers of any kind
  • All Tobacco products, including vapes
  • Weapons
  • Cleaning fluids, Aerosol cans, sprays
  • Clothing with strings, drawstrings, or belts
  • Any clothing or item with offensive language or graphics
  • Electronic devices, Batteries
  • Corded headphones
  • Necklaces or Dog Tags, Keys, Key chains
  • Lighters, matches
  • Scissors, safety pins, needles, push pins, tacks, Sharp pointed nail files
  • Steel-toed, Heeled shoes, and any shoes with laces
  • Any products containing alcohol
  • Razors-blades of any kinds
  • Spiral notebooks
  • Permanent or dry-erase markers, white-out/liquid paper, paperclips
  • Dog Leashes greater than 4”

The following items may be used with direct staff supervision and will be secured when not in use:

  • Tweezers and nail clippers-may not be shared with others for infection control reason
  • Electric razors-disposable razors may be used depending upon your assigned level of care
  • Dental Floss
  • Wireless headphones
  • Cellphones during designated times
